Ticket to the Past

Ticket to the Past was produced by English Heritage's Education Department in 1997 as part of their extensive range of educational videos.

Comedian Rowland Rivron presents a very amusing yet informative "behind the scenes" guide to planning a major special event, in this case the first History in Action spectacular in 1996. It follows Howard Giles and his team as they first organise the logistics and then manage the event on the day.

The film is also a fascinating record of this ground-breaking annual event, which subsequently grew greatly in size and directly led to other major multi-period re-enactments including those now staged by EventPlan.

Howard still utilises this very useful video as an introduction to his event training sessions for EventPlan staff and other clients.
