A close-up of 1st Century Roman cavalryman in his parade helmet, as portrayed by John Naylor of The Vicus. Glinting in the sunlight and hiding all facial features and expressions, such helmets give their owners quite a sinister aspect. During the weekend, the group staged displays with combat and skills-at-arms competitions between Romans and Britons, including three mounted Roman and a mounted Briton.
