Tall Ships '07
at Gloucester Docks
A great weekend
of living history to augment Gloucester City Council's Tall Ships '07
event, which featured 4 superb ships, The Earl of Pembroke, The
Phoenix, The Ruth and the Cathleen and May. Our role was to
provide top quality living historians to "crew" three of the ships, and offer
nautically-themed quayside entertainments. Around 20,000 visitors flocked to
the docks to visit the ships and enjoy the events. At night the ships were lit
up with coloured lights, looking magnificent.
The event offered a taster of things to come for 19-20 April 2008, when Gloucester hosted Gloucester through the ages - Live!, a major free-admission weekend of multi-period Roman to WWII living history in various locations, bringing to life aspects of the city's rich heritage. This event was also a huge success.
