which once again attracted around 25,000 visitors.

Ongoing living history
demonstrations
ran concurrently
with the above, laid out in a "timeline" from Ancient
Greeks to C20th, so giving visitors the opportunity to literally "walk through
history". Huge numbers of visitors took the opportunity to find out about
military and everyday life through the ages, see period crafts & cooking, and even
step into a C17th "Vermeer painting"!
Some period sports were demonstrated, including medieval football, C19th baseball and singlestick fencing (popular between 1787 and 1923).
A variety of Historical traders/demonstrators were present. In addition to our historical displays, there were crafts, a horticultural show and other activities to enjoy. A fantastic family day out for visitors, and free too! Sadly, due to adverse weather conditions at base, the Battle of Britain Memorial flight Dakota flyover on Monday afternoon had to be cancelled, with apologies from the BBMF.

From city centre:
From the main Park Square roundabout (off Sheffield Parkway) take the A61(S)
(Sheaf Street), past the railway station. Bear left, still on the A61(S) into
Suffolk Road, then straight over the next roundabout past MacDonalds and up Farm
Road. Turn next left into Park Grange Road under the Metro, then proceed up the
hill until you see the park signs. These lead to the entrance and the Centre
