Services
to schools and museums
Schools
need not have to go on historical visits any more if they don't want to...we can
bring history right to the classroom! Safer, easier and cheaper! Ideal too for
museums, special interest groups and social clubs.
We can arrange
for top living historians and interpreters to come to you and present
fascinating talks and hands-on-activities. Our pool of experienced speakers
and interpreters could be just what you need! We always select the right person
or persons for the job. Whether a single interpreter, a couple or group, they
will present you with a slice of history in a fascinating, engaging way. Nobody
ever falls asleep at the back during one of our talks!
Many of our speakers are also equally at home as living history interpreters. If you need historical characters for a museum event or open day, look no further!
Indeed, Howard Giles isn't just EventPlan's Managing Director, he enjoys lecturing and interpreting too. As a historian, Howard has researched many eras of history and commentated at major live events for many years. He has scripted and spoken voiceovers for videos of two key re-enactment events, History in Action II (1997) and History in Action 2000. His relaxed style and ability to talk without notes (taking inspiration from the lectures of the late great A J P Taylor) go down well with audiences of all ages and background, from a single classroom of children to 20,000 people at an event. Subject to availability, Howard can act as commentator at live events, talk to invited audiences, or personally interpret the past for schools or museums.
Fees vary according to content and location, but are always very reasonable.
Just some of the subjects we can cover:
Romans
Vikings & Saxons
Saxons and Normans
Music through the ages
Fashion through the ages
Famous battles and campaigns eg Waterloo and Gettysburg
