Discussing
scripts
Event Director Howard Giles running over the script for the Battle of Hastings, 1995. Just one of the hundreds of events Howard has directed in person over the years, this was a complex re-enactment involving 50 mounted knights and hundreds of warriors. The battle was refought on the exact spot, on the actual anniversary, 14 October.
Working closely with performers to mutual benefit is an essential ingredient of successful, exciting events.
An even larger re-enactment was staged in October 2000, featuring around 1000 warriors including almost 100 mounted knights. Staged only infrequently on a large scale, such is the draw of this famous battle that re-enactors come as far as from America or the former Soviet Union to take part.
