Filming Historyonics - 1066

Saxon soldiers from King Harold's army (portrayed here by members of the cast and skilled extras from Conquest) prepare for battle at Hastings, 1066. Throughout the filming of Historyonics, the none too serious prime time BBC 1 series, Historical Film Services* sourced specialist walk-ons, supporting artistes and re-enactors as required, as well as helping to ensure that clothing, uniforms and weaponry were as accurate as possible. On 7 December 2004 writer and presenter Nick Knowles received a Royal Television Award for the series, screened during the Spring.
