Supermarine Spitfire

A Spitfire from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight roars overhead at 60 Years On, Basingstoke War Memorial Park on Sunday 10 July 2005. As ever, the audience of thousands went completely wild, cheering and waving union jack flags provided by the Royal British Legion. The Spitfire was the highlight of a an extremely successful 60th anniversary weekend event of living history, displays and entertainments staged by EventPlan on behalf of Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.
