The Siege of Bolingbroke Castle 1643, Old Bolingbroke, Lincolnshire, 10-12 October 2003

This was our last major show of the year, staged on behalf of the Friends of Bolingbroke Castle and Heritage Trust of Lincolnshire and featuring the English Civil War Society. Held on the exact 360th anniversary of the start of the siege and the decisive Battle of Winceby, it was enjoyed by around 4,000 visitors including hundreds of school children on our special schools' living history day. A great event, perfect weather and achieving exactly the right number of  visitors desired all contributed to an excellent weekend, which included re-enactments, displays, anniversary commemorations and wreath laying.
